How to add a $0.00 product as free gift in cart goals

This guide explains how to properly configure an existing 0.0$ priced product in your Shopify store so it can be offered as a free gift in a cart goal campaign

❗️ Important Note: its highly recommended to use products with price as free gifts in Cart Goal campaign. Because our app can apply discounts to normal products and automatically make them free when a customer reaches the required milestone.

🛒 Preparation Steps in Shopify

Navigate to the respective 0$ product you plan to give away as a free reward in your Shopify admin.

Step 1: Set Status to Unlisted (Crucial for $0.00 Products)

To ensure this $0.00 product is not easily found or purchased outside of a Cart Goal reward:

1. Go to your Shopify admin and select the existing **$0.00 product** you intend to use from the "Products" tab.
2. Change the product's Status ( located in the top left) from "Active" to "Unlisted".What does "Unlisted" status do?The product can only be accessed via its direct URL.It will be excluded from Google search results.

Step 2: Configure Product Type

1. In the product details page, locate the "Product Type" field ( under the "Product Organization" section).
2. Set the product's Product Type to: free_product (this is crucial for our app).

✅ Finalizing the Setup

Once you have completed the four configuration steps above, you can now proceed:

1. Go into our app.
2. Navigate to your Cart Goals settings.
3. Select this configured product as the free reward.

• Refresh the page: This reloads the product data into our application.
